Gathering insurance leads should help you to make more sales. But for some agents, this is not the case. The reason for this is that they do not know what to do with leads when they come across their desk. Fortunately, there are three steps that you can take in order to ensure success with insurance leads.
- Study each insurance lead as you receive it. Where did it come from? Do you think that it has a good chance of turning into a sale? What type of policy is the consumer looking for? These are all questions that you will want to deal with.
- Before you contact a lead for the first time, make sure that you know what they are looking for. This is especially true if you are calling them on the phone. You only have one chance to make a first impression, and you want to do this right.
- If a lead does not turn into a sale after the first contact, it is not dead just yet. Ask the consumer when they may be making a decision, and then schedule them for a follow up at that time. Believe it or not, it may take several contacts before you actually get a sale. Being persistent will work out to your favor in the end.
