How Online Insurance Leads have changed the Industry

The ability to purchase insurance leads online has changed the industry forever. While there will always be the ability to generate leads offline, the internet is bringing a new dimension to both agents and consumers. Simply put: wherever consumers gather the agents are going to follow. And as of late, more and more consumers are relying on the internet to purchase a policy; no matter what kind it is.

From an agent's point of view, online insurance leads have done two things for them. First and foremost, the ability to purchase these leads online gives them the ability to cut back on other ways of marketing their products. As you can imagine, some agents love what the internet is doing to the industry and others would rather see this go away altogether because they are dealing in the past.

Additionally, agents are also aware of the fact that consumers are spending more time learning and shopping for insurance online. So even if they do not like what the internet has to offer, they still have to use this method of communication because that is where most consumers are headed. In other words, to stay on pace with the industry, agents need to use the internet no matter if they are comfortable doing so or not.

Of course, consumers now have the ability to submit their information online to receive quotes. By doing this, it drags more and more agents into the picture because they must respond to these requests. There will always be consumers who want to shop offline, but the internet is greatly changing the shopping experience.

All in all, online insurance leads are relatively new to the industry but in a short amount of time they have changed the way that both agents and consumers think. Over the next few years, this trend is sure to inflict even more positive growth.
